Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire have won more than £59 million conference business through ongoing collaborations with partners, including the Aberdeen Convention Bureau, P&J Live and the University of Aberdeen.
Together, the teams have successfully competed with other UK and European cities, gather experts for conferences, exhibitions, and exhibitions, networks, knowledge sharing, and demonstrate the latest research into global and national business events.
The secured business events include the Global Agritourism Conference 2026, the European Association for Social Work Research 2026, and the European Nonlinear Vibration Conference 2027.
Laura Wilson, director of the Aberdeen Convention Bureau, said: “With support from the Northeast, Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council’s Opportunity funders, we are securing new businesses in the Northeast supply chain, from caterers to transportation providers, to meetings and social venues.”
He says it is managed and operated by Steve Daun, Head of Associations, P&J Live, ASM Global. “These meetings not only bring economic and social value to the region, but also help to raise Aberdeen’s profile at the international stage.
After eight years of bidding for the UK Stroke Forum, the flagship event of the British Stroke Association, Aberdeen Convention Bureau and P&J Live has successfully attracted the 20th British Stroke Forum to be held in Aberdeen in November 2025 at P&J Live.
