Microsoft has doubled its investment in Europe, this time doubling it with a new $700 million commitment to Poland. The funds, announced Monday, will build on the company’s existing $1 billion data center project, strengthening the country’s cybersecurity initiatives, expanding computing power.

At a joint press conference with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tass, Microsoft President Brad Smith outlined plans for this next phase.

“Microsoft is planning to invest another $700 million in Poland to work with the Polish military to improve Poland’s cybersecurity, the company’s president said on Monday without elaborating,” Reuters said. reported.

Microsoft’s Polish Data Center, released in 2023, is a major hub for cloud services that supports both businesses and government agencies. New investments will expand these capabilities and play a role in AI development and security initiatives.

Tusk highlights the impact of the move, pointing out that it will allow thousands of Polish scientists, managers, startups and researchers to access new tools and help move the country’s technology sector forward. I did.

This push fits Microsoft’s broader playbook to enhance AI and digital infrastructure across Europe. In February, Tech Giant announced its investment of 3.2 billion euros in Germany over the next two years.

Over the past year, Microsoft has concentrated at least $6 billion on projects from four countries. In addition to Poland and Germany, the company has increased its AI training efforts. It has registered 2 million people in small Indian cities and 1 million people in the UK.

As AI and cloud infrastructure shape the future of the global economy, Microsoft is not only investing in technology, but is betting on the next wave of digital transformation.
