Development StoryThe developed story,

Rebel commander Corneil Nanga says he is unharmed as the video shows people killed and injured in the idiots.

The explosion rocked major cities in the Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) during a rally of supporters attended by one of the top commanders of the M23 rebel groups and the armed group.

The first explosion in Bukabu on Thursday caused panic, fleeing attendees from the area before the second explosion rang out, according to AFP News Agency. Residents said the explosion would involve shootings.

People were running down the street, carrying some bleeding and limp bodies, the video showed. Residents said they saw the dead, but there was no immediate information on the number of victims.

The meeting was first attended by M23 Commander Corneil Nanga, leader of the Congo River Alliance.

Nanga told Reuters in a call, neither he nor any other senior rebel commanders were injured in the attack and blamed President Felix Zisekedi without providing evidence. There were no immediate comments from the government.

Bukabu is one of two major cities in the turbulent region seized by anti-government M23 fighter jets in recent weeks, and UN experts say it is being supported by Rwanda.

The armed groups are trying to demonstrate that order can be restored in territory captured by the DRC’s military, and have reopened ports and schools.

The M23 fighter jets swept the eastern DRC, grabbed major cities and killed around 7,000 people. There are also reports of child sexual abuse and recruitment of minors as soldiers.

The rebel advances sparked fears of regional wars that could attract DRC neighbors, including Rwanda.

This advancement is said to be the most significant escalation of long-term conflicts in the eastern DRC over more than a decade, rooted in the ripples of Rwanda’s 1994 genocide to the DRC and the struggle for control of the DRC’s vast mineral resources.

Rwanda says it is opposed to the threat from the Hotz militia.
