The new electrolyzer will produce green hydrogen from renewable energy sources and is a step toward establishing a German hydrogen center in Chemnitz.

Chemnitz-based energy supplier Ainz Energy has received around 1.6 million euros for the construction of hydrogen electrolyzers and the conversion of existing natural gas pipelines to use green hydrogen from renewable energy.

Along with the construction of the plant, Saxony is supporting the further development of the first of four new hydrogen centers across the country, which began operations in Chemnitz last year.

“This project makes an important contribution to the strengthening of Chemnitz as a research center and to the development of Saxony’s hydrogen-based industry,” commented State Secretary Søren Trillenberg.

Electrolyzers will supply green hydrogen until the 2030s

The funding will come from the European Union’s Just Transition Fund (JTF), which supports the transition to a climate-neutral economy.

Ains Energy plans to build an electrolyser with a capacity of 240 kilowatts. The downstream stationary hydrogen storage unit stores approximately 115 cubic meters of energy carrier.

Chemnitz is one of the four locations of the German government’s National Hydrogen Innovation and Technology Center (ITZ). The new building will be built on the city’s technology campus in several construction phases by 2029.

According to the ministry, Ains Energy’s green hydrogen project will ensure baseload hydrogen supply to the construction area until the 2030s, with the potential for further increases in the future.

Phasing out the use of coal in Saxony

The brown coal region of Saxony will receive a total of EUR 645 million in EU funds until 2027 for structural reforms. Most of this money will be donated to the Lusatian coalfields. The Central German Mining District will receive 200 million euros and the city of Chemnitz will receive 70 million euros.

The Hydrogen Innovation Center in Chemnitz primarily supports small and medium-sized enterprises and start-ups to develop new business areas in green hydrogen technology.

To achieve this objective, laboratories, test benches and workshops are being built to efficiently develop new technologies and products for market maturity.

What brought them to us, where did they come from, and what role did they play at the crime scene? Introduction: One look at the decentralized fight against cybercrime The sophistication and diversification of cybercrime is forcing law enforcement agencies around the world to respond through increasingly coordinated and publicized actions. However, despite the visibility of these activities, to our knowledge, a comprehensive overview of how law enforcement agencies respond to cybercrime globally does not yet exist. Publicly available information includes agency, jurisdiction, and incident-specific reports (e.g. "operation endgame") [1] and reporting formats provide piecemeal insights rather than a coherent understanding of what types of crimes are being targeted, what actions are being taken, and who the offenders are. The result is isolated glimpses rather than a coherent picture. therefore…
