Olivia Rodrigo gives love advice and listens to new song live on radio

Did your heart hurt? Olivia Rodrigo may have a cure. Ahead of the release of her new album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, the pop star will be taking over iHeartRadio to host her own dating advice show, answering questions live on air about all things love.

The company announced the news on Tuesday (June 9), revealing that the hour-long show will be titled “u+me=Advice Forever,” a reference to one of the titles of “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.” The song will be aired on digital station Hit Nation on Thursday (June 11th) at 9pm ET, the day before the new LP is released.

In addition to advising on fan-submitted relationship questions (which listeners can submit in advance through iHeartRadio’s Talkback feature), Rodrigo will exclusively preview unreleased music from his third full-length.

You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, which follows her Billboard 200-topping LPs Sour and Guts, features a total of 13 songs. Up until now, fans have only really heard lead singles “Drop Dead” and “The Cure,” which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as a performance of “Begged” on Saturday Night Live and the surprise live debut of “What’s Wrong With Me?” On Sunday (June 7), he performed with Robert Smith at Primavera Sound.

In other radio Rodrigo news, the Grammy Award winner recently appeared on BBC Radio 1 and revealed to host Greg James that his new album ‘Stupid Song’ will be made into a music video. She also talked about how she prefers to apply her own life to the lyrics, rather than thinking about the songwriter’s own personal life while listening to the lyrics of other artists’ love songs.

“I love translating that into my life,” she said. “Of course, if the song makes more sense to someone else by projecting my life, then I’ll be that song, and that’s totally fine.”
