Ariana Grande is spreading more sunshine with the launch of a new foundation supporting gay and transgender rights, mental health services and more.

The pop star and actress broke the news in a social media post on Friday (June 12), writing in a statement: “I’m so excited to finally announce a foundation that looks ahead to brighter days.”

“Our mission is to support, protect and provide resources to our vulnerable friends in need,” she continued. “Through our four different funds, we will support a small number of amazing organizations that are providing the safe spaces and care that so many people desperately need right now.”

The first of four causes to benefit from the Brighter Days Foundation is represented by the Protect & Defend Fund. The fund will “empower grassroots groups that advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, civil rights, and reproductive justice, and help build communities where people feel safe, supported, and have access to care and resources,” the statement said. The second, called the Heal & Dream Fund, will “expand access to mental health care and community supports to help people feel seen, understood, and able to heal.”

The Seen & Celebrated Fund is dedicated to spotlighting the voices and stories of the LGBTQ+ community, and its grantees include the Gender Liberation Movement, Glisten Rainbow Library, SAGE USA, TransLash, and Transanta. Finally, the Emergency Relief Fund is operated on a case-by-case basis in the event of an emergency. Recent grant recipients include Humanity Crew, New York Cares, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Save the Children UK, This Is About Humanity and Troop 6000.

A complete list of organizations supported by Brighter Days Ahead Foundation is available on our website.

“It has been an honor to personally support these efforts over the years,” Grande added in a statement. “We are grateful that through the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation, these organizations can expand their reach and expand their life-saving work.”

The Oscar-nominated Wicked actress has long been one of the music industry’s most outspoken stars, and has been particularly vocal about LGBTQ+ rights since day one. She has also made a point of encouraging her fans to vote and speaking out against President Trump’s administration, recently slamming the Department of Homeland Security for using her song “Bye” on TikTok to promote ICE.

“Please never use my music in connection with this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense,” Grande commented online.

The Grammy Award winner’s new philanthropic endeavor comes just days after kicking off his Eternal Sunshine Tour in support of 2024’s “Eternal Sunshine,” which spent a total of three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. She is also preparing to release her new album, Petal, in July, after releasing lead single “Hate That I Made You Love Me,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in late May.
