Olivia Rodrigo’s new release ‘You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love’ is off to a record start.

The 23-year-old singer-songwriter’s third studio album, released by Geffen Records on Friday (June 12), has already broken streaming records on major platforms.

On Friday, Spotify announced on X that the 13-song set became the most streamed album in a single day by a female artist so far in 2026.

The album also marks a major milestone for Amazon Music, delivering the first worldwide 24-hour streaming debut of any album in Amazon Music history in 2026, the streaming service revealed via Instagram Stories on Friday.

You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love was released three years after Rodrigo’s last full-length release. Her previous album, Guts, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 in 2023.

The new project follows Rodrigo’s Billions Club Live performance in Barcelona in May. The one-night-only event attracted 1,500 of the singer’s most ardent Spanish fans to the outdoor venue Teatre Grecque. During her set, she performed eight of the nine songs from Spotify Billions Club, along with fan favorites from her first two albums and recent single “Drop Dead.” Spotify then released the concert video of the program on May 27th.

In late April, Spotify announced a list of the most streamed artists, songs, albums, podcasts, and audiobooks in the platform’s history. Rodrigo’s 2021 debut album, Sour, ranked fourth among the streaming giant’s most streamed albums of all time.

Rodrigo is also one of the youngest artists to have multiple songs on Spotify’s Billions Club. Sour ranks second among albums with the most songs to surpass 1 billion streams on the platform, with seven songs reaching the milestone. Only Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti has more, with an entry in the 8 Billions Club.
