“Who’s saying, ‘Jesus, send me?'” contemporary Christian singer Forrest Frank asked the crowd that filled Nashville’s GEODIS Park on Friday (June 19) as he fronted a show on his headlining Jesus Generation Tour. From the first moments of the show, Frank seamlessly blended his own uptempo hits like “Your Way’s Better” and “Celebration” with classic worship songs and messages aimed at uplifting his followers.
Frank first rose to national prominence as part of the pop duo Surface, and has since become one of Christian music’s top artists, blending elements of hip-hop, pop, and a promotional plan with an emphasis on social media-first strategies. Together, these factors have given Frank a powerful connection with a younger generation of fans. His 2024 album Child of God spent weeks atop the Top Christian Albums chart and entered the Billboard 200 chart, and his 2025 project Child of God II debuted at No. 1 on the Top Christian Albums chart and reached No. 12 on the all-genre Billboard 200.
His Nashville show opened with the tour’s namesake, “The Jesus Generation,” before Frank performed a number of hits, including “Amen,” “Good Day,” and “Up!” The crowd seemed to consist primarily of families, youth groups, and children and teens of all ages, all singing and dancing together. Many in the audience wore wristbands that lit up in different colors during the show.
In 2025, Frank sold out Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on his sold-out Child of God Tour Part 2. This year, he leveled up at GEODIS Park, welcoming an estimated 21,000 fans to the open-air stadium. In addition to opening acts Tori Kelly, Corey Asbury, and The Figgs, Frank orchestrated a nearly two-hour headlining show, further cementing CCM’s role as a singer-songwriter and peak entertainer, one of its most important artists at a time when the CCM genre is booming. Catering to a younger generation of listeners, Frank and his music continue to provide a soundtrack for CCM fans and form a new wave of CCM fans.
For much of the show, Frank let the music take control, flowing from one hit to the next. He also sang “Jesus is Alive!” The song recently became Frank’s second No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart. The song shot to the top spot in just two weeks, marking his 10th top 10 hit on the Hot Christian Songs chart. During his last tour, Frank featured audio of his pastor grandfather’s sermons. During his show at GEODIS Park, he took time to pay tribute to his recently deceased grandfather and grandmother.
“Our grandmothers were prayer warriors, and I grew up in the same neighborhood as them, and I remember being dropped off about once a month,” Frank told the crowd. “My grandmother put her hands on my head and prayed in a language I didn’t understand. Now that I’m older and a little more mature, I understand that she was speaking in a heavenly language, and she spoke that language to me every day…Why I shouldn’t be here today. There are so many, so many reasons why you shouldn’t be here today. But we’re here. Are we here today because someone prayed for us?” Prayed” was performed.
After leading most of the show from the main stage, at one point Frank walked through the crowd to a piano set up on a satellite stage near the back of the venue, giving those at the back of the show the best seats in the venue for a short time during the show. There he sang “No Longer Bound” and “Thankful” before returning to the stage. At one point, just like on previous tours, Frank opened up his laptop and guided fans through his methodology for putting together songs, giving fans a glimpse into his process.
Frank didn’t sing a single note of his hit song “Your Ways Better” (which hit the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 last year) before the audience took their seats and sang most of the song a cappella. He quickly joined in as the entire audience continued to sing along and many performed the viral dance that quickly boosted the song’s popularity.
Although his setlist was centered around his solid hits (so many, in fact, that some, like “Nothing Else” and “No Ls”, didn’t make it into the setlist that night), it was clear that his focus was on setting the tone for the worship service. His stage was set up like a grassy hill, with a giant illuminated cross in the center. He blended classic CCM/worship songs with his own hip-hop and pop-oriented hits, leading the crowd through “Lord You Are Good,” followed by his own “Celebration.” He also called out concertgoers from the crowd to sing Caleb Gordon’s rap verse from the song “God Is Good.”
Midway through the show, he took a break from his plethora of hits and led the crowd through several worship music songs and hymns, including the Matt Redman-composed classic “Heart of Worship,” the hymn “Nothing But the Blood of Jesus,” and Bethel Music and Jen Johnson’s new hit “Goodness of God.” Singing with his back to the audience, Frank spent most of the time kneeling at the base of the crucifix that was the centerpiece of his stage production, and the audience sang along, turning the evening from a concert to a worship service.
As the show drew to a close, Bayley and Mika from The Figs took to the stage to get the crowd excited, and Frank surprised them by appearing at the top of the venue surrounded by fans. As audience members’ wristbands glowed a bright yellow, Frank joined The Figs to sing their hit “Lemonade,” before closing with another high-energy pop hit, “Never Get Used to This.”
From the first note to the last chorus, Frank continued to deeply engage his multigenerational audience. With dynamic songs and lively performances, Frank’s concerts quickly became outstanding concert experiences, especially for audiences seeking a family-friendly environment where listeners of all ages can share in the mission and atmosphere of the music.
