As Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding reportedly approaches, George Kittle reveals one rule the couple has for their guests.
“They said no gifts at all,” the San Francisco 49ers player told ExtraTV at the Tight Ends & Friends concert on Tuesday, June 23.
That being said, Kittle is still wondering if he can give the Kansas City Chiefs tight end something small on his big day. “I was thinking…Travis likes old coins for some reason,” Kittle told the magazine. “So maybe I should buy him some old coins. That seems expensive, too.”
On Tuesday night, Swift, Kelce and Kittle all gathered together for this year’s Tight End University, founded by two football stars and Greg Olsen. The annual event aims to unite the NFL’s tight ends while raising money for charity through events such as the “Tight Ends & Friends” concert.
This year’s concert, held at The Pinnacle in Nashville, featured featured performer Rainie Wilson, who at one point welcomed Swift on stage for a surprise “Love Story” duet.
“I have a special request from a very special party who wants to hear a specific song,” Swift said before diving into the song (which reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2009) with Wilson. “And that tight end’s name is George Kittle.”
The event precedes Swift and Kelce’s wedding and will reportedly take place over the Fourth of July weekend. Kittle seemed to acknowledge as much in another interview with People magazine, saying, “She’s such a wonderful person to take the time to spend time with us so close to her wedding, so I’m very grateful that they’re here.”
Another person in Kelce’s life who is considering a potential wedding gift is Chiefs coach Andy Reid. He joked in a recent interview with KSHB 41, “I’m going to throw to Travis a few times. I’m just going to give him a few new routes. He’s going to be super happy.”
