“I don’t want to keep secrets just to protect you,” Taylor Swift sings in “Cruel Summer,” but she and Travis Kelce plan to keep some secrets from their wedding guests in order to keep the location a secret.
At least that’s what it sounds like, based on what George and Claire Kittle told Entertainment Tonight in a clip posted on Wednesday (June 24). The San Francisco 49ers tight end and his wife admitted they received an invitation to the big day — “Yeah, we’ll be there,” George said — but made it clear that even they don’t know exactly where “there” is.
When asked if Swift and Kelsea were planning to wed at Madison Square Garden, as reported, Clare replied seriously, “I don’t know.”
“I’m wearing a blue suit, that’s all,” George added. “Actually, when I asked Travis last night, he laughed. There was just a jumbo jet on the runway, and I was half-expecting to be put on a plane somewhere.”
The athlete’s comments appear to reveal how Kelce and the pop star are keeping their wedding details from leaking to the public. There have been many reports of it being held somewhere in New York City over the Fourth of July weekend, but nothing has been confirmed.
Meanwhile, Kelce and Kittle have been hard at work hosting this year’s Tight End University, an annual summit they founded with Greg Olsen to bring together NFL tight ends for group training and raise money for charity. On Tuesday (June 24), Swift performed a surprise duet of “Love Story” with featured performer Laney Wilson at the Tight Ends & Friends concert as part of the event in Nashville.
“I had a special request from a special tight end and he wanted to hear a specific song,” Swift said after taking the stage. “And that tight end’s name is George Kittle.”
During his conversation with ET, George also gushed about how much he cares about Kelsey, a 14-time Grammy winner. “look [Travis] “I’m always watching her back and I’m there whenever she needs something and it’s kind of fun to see that,” he said.
