Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey’s wedding vows were written out of a “little book” and read to each other, guests at their July 3 wedding at New York City’s Madison Square Garden revealed. What else do we know about their wedding vows?
GMA’s Robin Roberts revealed details of “The Little Book” on Saturday morning’s broadcast, in which she talked about Swift and Kelce’s Friday night celebration with fellow attendees Michael Strahan and George Stephanopoulos.
Stefanopoulos further revealed in a separate ABC News report on their wedding night that Swift and Kelce’s vows were “real, vulnerable, earnest and silly, deeply loving and everything you want.”
Swift and Kelce’s wedding event had a “garden within a garden” style, Stephanopoulos added on GMA the next morning. “It was just beautiful.”
While GMA hosts were careful to keep their wedding report short and sweet, another notable wedding guest, AMC CEO Adam Aaron, wrote a longer insider account of Swift and Kelce’s wedding experience and posted it on social media, revealing more personal details about what the bride and groom said in their vows.
Aaron explained Swift and Kelsey’s wedding vows: “Each is a long, funny, personal, fascinating, emotional, irreverent and endearing exploration of how these two met, why they want to be together forever, and the promise that unites two loving families (Kelsey and Swift) and commits to a new, mutual life together.”
His report on the wedding has since been deleted, but an AMC executive leaked details about the couple’s “I do” moment, saying it culminated with a “kiss that took them off their feet.”
He also wrote in great detail about the interior, noting that “large blown-up photos of Taylor and Travis at each age, from year-old to late teens, were on display,” adding, “There was no idea that a small portion of MSG was off-limits and that basketball and hockey games were sharing the space. Somehow, magically, someone had created an outdoor garden in the lush country retreat.”
The post-ceremony party was “like an exquisite ‘The Secret Garden’ set, with a five-story-high lighted ‘tree,'” Aaron said.
The small details revealed so far about Swift and Kelsea’s wedding may remind you of a theme the famous songwriter has written about before. Perhaps the vows and the overall concept of the garden, taken from the book, have a personal connection to Swift. “I wrote about going to the Secret Garden in my head. I read about it in a book as a precocious child,” Swift once wrote on her 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, which cited Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic children’s novel The Secret Garden. The Secret Garden was made into a movie (directed by Agnieszka Holland, executive produced by Francis Ford Coppola) and was popular with children in the 90s.
If handwritten vows brought tears to someone’s eyes, Swift was ready for it. Wedding guests received custom lace handkerchiefs monogrammed with “TT,” as well as the event date of July 3, 2026, the New York City location, and the “Blank Space” lyrics, “So it’ll be forever…” sewn in cursive.
