Paul McCartney revived a Beatles classic at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding reception.

According to People, the 84-year-old legendary musician performed the Fab Four’s “I Want to Hold Your Hand” live for the first time since 1964 at the pop superstar and Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s wedding celebration on Friday, July 3, at Madison Square Garden in New York.

“After the ceremony, Taylor’s mother Andrea invited everyone to the reception room where a stage was set up,” a source told the magazine.

According to officials, this reception space was also where Stevie Nicks performed. Good Morning America co-anchor Robin Roberts confirmed on Saturday (July 4) that the legendary Fleetwood Mac singer also took to the stage during the celebration.

Prior to Swift and Kelce’s wedding, McCartney had not performed “I Saw Her Standing There” live since the Beatles’ concert at New York’s Paramount Theater in September 1964, according to setlist.fm. The song peaked at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 that same year.

Swift recently showed her admiration for McCartney by sharing the former Beatle’s Instagram post promoting his newly released solo album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane. “It’s impossible not to be inspired by this timeless and extraordinary artist,” Swift wrote on her Instagram Story.

The two music icons have crossed paths several times over the years. They performed “Shake It Off” together at the Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Afterparty in 2015 and interviewed each other about songwriting for Rolling Stone in 2020.

McCartney was also a VIP guest at Swift’s Elas Tour show at London’s Wembley Stadium in 2024, where a video taken by a fan showed him dancing to Tortured Poets’ Department song “But Daddy I Love Him.”
