Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce shed a fair amount of tears while exchanging vows at their wedding over the Fourth of July weekend, according to two attendees who recently revealed new details about the event.
Days after the pop star and tight end’s star-studded wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Today reports that anonymous guests told NBC News that the newlyweds choked up while professing their love for each other at the altar. One person said: “You’d think the bride was crying more, but Travis was actually more emotional.”
Attendees also noted that Swift’s vows included a bit of singing, and there were few dry eyes among the many guests who watched.
Other details shared by insiders included A-list musicians Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks who performed at Swift and Kelce’s reception. Additionally, the Ellas headliner added that although she didn’t perform at the wedding itself, she and Kelsey did a duet of their favorite rock songs at the rehearsal dinner the night before.
The reception featured food from the bride and groom’s favorite New York City restaurants, and guests said, “There was a game to win raffle tickets — what was in the raffle? A designer bag, a 1970s Chevrolet Chevelle,” according to a segment on TODAY that aired Monday (July 6), and that the bag was similar to the one the couple drove in public for the first time in September 2023.
Few other guests have revealed details about their wedding, but Maren Morris posted a photo of monogrammed napkins from her big day, featuring the lyrics “So it’ll be forever…” from “Blank Space.”
Music video director Joseph Kahn posted a photo and wrote on Instagram: “All I want to say about the wedding is that it was so much funnier and more emotional than I expected. And while it was grand, it also felt very intimate. And literally everyone was there.”
The event comes just under a year after Swift and Kelsey shared news of their engagement in August 2025. After the two got married, a sign that read “JUST&T MARRIED” appeared on a large screen outside MSG. Shortly after, the singer’s rep announced in a release shared with Billboard that Adam Sandler served as master of ceremonies, while Austin Swift and Jason Kelce, brothers of the bride and groom, served as officiant and groomsmen, respectively.
Swift has 15 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, and just two weeks before her wedding, she topped the chart with “I Knew It, I Knew You” from the Toy Story 5 soundtrack. Her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, spent 12 weeks atop the Billboard 200.
