Hey, thank you for the lovely bouquet! In keeping with tradition, Taylor Swift apparently threw a bouquet of flowers into the crowd of unmarried women at her and Travis Kelce’s wedding over the Fourth of July weekend, one of whom came forward as the lucky recipient.
In an Instagram post on Sunday (July 5), Ashley Smith, the younger brother of Kelce’s teammate Trey Smith, revealed that the pop superstar’s flower arrangement fell into her hands during the toss. “Celebrating a captivating love story,” she wrote, sharing a photo of herself in a black evening dress.
“And somehow…I ended up getting Tay Tay’s bouquet,” Ashley continued. “So I hope this brings me a lifetime of love, luck, and laughter. Congratulations Taylor and Travis! Cheers to forever T&T!”
She also shared a few photos of herself holding a bouquet of flowers. According to the snapshot, Swift walked down the aisle carrying what appeared to be a collection of sweet peas and Queen Anne’s lace.
The ceremony was held on Friday (July 3rd) at Madison Square Garden with a large number of officials in attendance. Sources say the bride and groom tearfully said their wedding vows at the event, with Swift singing some of the vows, but the reception also featured performances by Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks.
After the singer and Kelsey tied the knot, the words “JUST&T MARRIED” played on a screen outside a New York City arena, announcing the news to the world. Shortly after, Swift’s representatives announced that instead of a traditional wedding party, her older brother, Austin Swift, would be the guest of honor, and her brother Jason Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, would serve as a chaperone. Adam Sandler served as host.
The next day, while enjoying the fireworks display at Macy’s, Travis’ mother Donna said of the event, “I can’t say much about it other than it was truly magical.” “Like magic.”
