As Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce celebrated their wedding over the Fourth of July weekend, the couple made sure that several different charities had a reason to celebrate as well.
Following Thursday’s (July 2) news that the pop star and Kansas City Chiefs tight end had donated $26 million to numerous charities across the country, many of those organizations released messages of gratitude. One of them, the Grammy Museum Foundation, issued a statement praising the soon-to-be newlyweds’ “transformative gifts” that “help expand our mission to provide music education to students across the country,” while New York Cares said it was “captivated” by their generosity and added, “Thank you for making our mission a part of your love story.”
“We would like to send a huge thank you to @taylorswift and @killatrav for their generous donation to our food bank right before their big wedding,” Kansas City Harvesters wrote. “They both have incredibly big hearts and have supported many charities, not just ours, over the years. We are very fortunate that they are consciously seeking to invest in hunger relief and the beautiful community we call Kansas City.”
These are just three of more than a dozen letters of appreciation released by the charities Swift and Kelsey chose to benefit from their pre-wedding donations. Representatives for the 14-time Grammy Award winner announced the act of kindness early Thursday and sent a list of organizations that received a portion of the money. Notably, all of the cities featured have personal meaning for the couple, from Swift and the football player’s hometowns of Reading, Pennsylvania, and Cleveland to where they started their careers in Nashville and Kansas City.
The couple has also donated to many New York-based causes and will celebrate their wedding at Madison Square Garden on Friday.
