Jon Pardi and Summer Purdy have announced their split.
On Friday (July 3), the 41-year-old country singer and his 37-year-old wife released a joint statement on social media, revealing that they are divorcing after five years of marriage.
The couple, who married in November 2020, have daughters Presley Fawn, 3, and Sienna Grace, 2.
“After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to end our marriage,” she wrote on Instagram. “Our daughters will always be our top priority and we are committed to moving forward with love and respect as co-parents.”
They added: “Thank you so much for your understanding, support and respect as we navigate this transition as a family.”
Shortly after posting the news, the “Dirt on My Boots” singer shared another message on her Instagram Stories.
“While I move forward with this next chapter, I will be taking some time off from social media to focus on myself and my family,” he wrote. “Thank you everyone for your love and support. For now, my team will be in charge of posting. See you at the show.”
The former couple’s breakup comes as Purdy is in the midst of his Honky Tonk Hollywood Tour, which is scheduled to end Dec. 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. This trek is in support of their latest album of the same name.
John and Summer met in May 2017 after being set up on a blind date by one of Summer’s clients and a friend of John’s mother.
“Within the first five minutes of meeting John, it was game over for me,” the hairstylist previously told People. “I texted my mom, ‘Sell my house, sell my car, send me my dog.'”
The former couple got engaged in October 2019 during a Pardi concert at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium.
