As the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off on Thursday (June 11), FIFA has tapped a star-studded cast including Megan Thee Stallion, David Guetta, Andrea Bocelli and HUNNTR/X’s EJAE for a global dance anthem titled “DNA.”
“DNA” arrived on streaming services on Wednesday (June 10) via SALXCO UAM/Def Jam Recordings. Music has long been a universal connection around the world, and FIFA has recruited a diverse range of talented artists from different sectors of the world.
Guetta will lead the dance-heavy production, as well as provide extra motivation for the 48 teams taking part, as it symbolizes that the World Cup is “more than just a game.” This global effort marks an unlikely collaboration between Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, rapper Megan Thee Stallion, and EJAE, who wrote the lyrics for “DNA” in Korean.
“The title of the song ‘DNA’ says it all,” Bocelli said in a statement. “Football has been in my life for as long as I can remember and will always hold a special place in my heart. Being invited to sing the FIFA World Cup national anthem and participate in the opening ceremony is an honor that touches me deeply.”
“DNA” represents a full-circle moment for the “Golden” singer, who recalls being in Seoul for the 2002 World Cup. EJAE added in a statement, “This song is especially meaningful because we were able to write the Korean lyrics. It’s a great honor to stand on this stage representing Korea.” “One of my favorite memories as a child was being in Seoul during the 2002 World Cup and watching the city come together. I’ll never forget the feeling of seeing strangers hugging and celebrating on the street.”
All games for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will begin on June 11th, with the United States facing Paraguay in the first match on Friday night (June 12th) at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
If two teams remain, the World Cup final will be held at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium in July, with Madonna, Shakira and BTS co-headlining the historic halftime show.
FIFA released the official 2026 FIFA World Cup album in early June, featuring appearances from superstars such as Anitta, Future, Tyra, 21 Savage, Shakira, Burna Boy, Daddy Yankee, Ratt and more.
