Beabadoobee is turning up the volume for what’s next. On Wednesday (June 24), the singer-songwriter announced that his fourth LP, Pylon, will be released on September 18th via Dirty Hit and Interscope Records, and shared its spicy lead single, “Sun Has Set.”

Pylon will feature an all-star cast of collaborators, with Hayley Williams singing on ‘Nothing To Prove’ and Brendan Yates (Turnstile) providing a verse on ‘Powerlines’. Evan Stevens Hall (Pinegrove), Chino Moreno (Deftones) and Shane Moran (Title Fight) also appear, with Dirty Hit labelmates Matty Healy and George Daniel (The 1975) also producing.

The upcoming album is a heavy, distortion-infused sound for Beabadoobee (real name Beatrice Laus), which is reflected in the title. The name comes from the steel transmission towers used to support overhead high-voltage power lines. The press release states:[pylons] After facing extreme disconnection and isolation while touring over the past few years, it reminded Routh of his connections to friends and family at home. ”

“Sun Has Set,” a blistering mix of jagged guitars and biting vocals, arrives with a video directed by Routh’s partner and longtime visual collaborator Jake Arland. Check out Pylon’s full tracklist below.

“A lot of the songs on this record are things you wish you could have said to someone. There’s a little tunnel vision to this song, like, ‘I hate you,'” Routh says of the new songs. “You can stay here and hear how much I hate you, because I could never say that.”

The album announcement was accompanied by news of a Powerlines tour, including Louth’s first arena show. The journey, which will see shows in North America, the United Kingdom and Europe later this year, begins October 1st at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, with stops at New York City’s Madison Square Garden (October 5th) and London’s O2 Arena (November 18th).

Pre-sale for fans will begin on June 30th at 10am local time, and general ticket sales will begin on July 2nd at 10am local time. For more ticket information, please visit Beabadoobee’s official website.

Routh’s last full-length, the dream-pop-inspired This Is How Tomorrow Moves, was released in 2024. Featuring production from the legendary Rick Rubin, the song topped the UK Official Albums Chart and peaked at number 34 on the Billboard 200, a career high for the 26-year-old Routh.

Earlier this year, Routh released a collaborative single with The Marias called “All I Did Was Dream of You.” She also appeared on the compilation Help(2), alongside Arctic Monkeys and Olivia Rodrigo, and provided a cover of Elliott Smith’s “Say Yes.”

Pylon tracklist:

“Pylon,” “Sun Has Set,” “Abandoned,” “Switchblade,” “Write a Letter,” “It’s All Right,” “In Motion,” “Memories,” “Nothing to Prove,” “Radio,” “Power Line,” “Spark,” “Despite” and “Satellite.”
