Olivia Rodrigo may have encountered the ghosts of people who died centuries ago while filming a music video at the Palace of Versailles in France.

During a recent appearance on Jimmy Hill’s Capital Evening Show, the pop star revealed that she “definitely” sensed a paranormal presence or two while filming the visuals for her Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single “Drop Dead” overnight at the iconic museum. “It was just a little thing. [scary] “I believe in ghosts, and if I were a ghost, I’d probably want to haunt the halls of Versailles,” Rodrigo said.

The Grammy winner added, “I definitely felt some spirit there.”

The music video for “Drop Dead” premiered in April and shows Rodrigo frolicking around the ornate halls of a palace, singing along to the song with a guitar and headphones. The choice of this location probably stems from one of the lyrics in the song’s chorus, in which Starr sings: “I always imagined us standing like this/Everyone squeezed into the bathroom rows and you looked like an angel on the walls of Versailles.”

“I can’t believe they let me film there. It was really wild,” Rodrigo added. “It started out as a pipe dream, like, “Oh, it would be great to go to Versailles one day.”

“Drop Dead” was the first taste of Rodrigo’s third album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, released June 12th. The former Disney star has since released two music videos for album songs “The Cure” and “Stupid Song” following the first track.
