Fans of Phoebe Bridgers may have felt at a loss after six years without new solo music, but the indie rock singer-songwriter is finally calling them home.
As announced on Wednesday (June 24th), Bridgers’ third solo album will be titled Lost Weekend and will be released on August 14th. The first song from the project is set to be released on Thursday (June 25), according to the Voygenious band member’s Instagram post about the 16-song LP, where she also revealed the dreamy black, blue and green cover art, which features an abstract depiction of her face in the center.
Bridgers hasn’t released an album of his own since 2020’s Punisher, which peaked at No. 43 on the Billboard 200. Before that, their debut LP, Stranger in the Alps, peaked at number 82 on the charts.
For the past six years, the four-time Grammy winner has instead been busy opening stints on Taylor Swift’s Ellas tour, performing with the pop superstar and Red (Taylor’s version) duet “Nothing New” in the main set, and performing with Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker. The trio released their first Voygenious full-length album, The Record, in 2023, which reached number 4 on the US album chart.
These days, though, Bridgers has kept a mostly low profile, rarely appearing in public — until this spring, when he began performing in secret pop-up performances around the country. The run culminated with a final show at Madison Square Garden in New York City, with proceeds going to the Immigration Bond Freedom Fund. During her set, she sampled several songs from Lost Weekend, switching from an acoustic guitar to a Mellotron.
Now, the California native is preparing to hit the road again with a major trek that begins September 14th in Indianapolis. The Lost Tour will continue until mid-December and will tour the United States, Canada, and Europe.
