Taylor Swift had a lot of fun playing around with the Toy Story 5 anthem “I Knew It, I Knew You.” Taylor Swift revealed in a new behind-the-scenes clip on Instagram that she wrote, recorded and produced the song with collaborator Jack Antonoff in just eight hours.
“It’s been a bit of a busy day,” she tells the camera in a video posted on Thursday, June 18. “I went to see ‘Toy Story 5’ at 11 a.m. and was so inspired. I got Zoomy the songwriter. I went home and wrote the end credits song for ‘Toy Story 5.’
“It’s 6:57 p.m.,” she continued, reflecting on how hectic the day had been. “Two hours later, [then-Disney CEO] Bob Iger and Tom from Pixar come to listen. Today is one of the happiest days of my life. ”
Swift also posted adorable throwback photos of herself and her brother Austin in Western-themed costumes, as well as a snap from the Toy Story 5 premiere in early June. “Getting TS5 tomorrow,” she wrote in the caption. “Oh, I love this amazing movie. Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 opens in theaters everywhere tomorrow (!!!!!)”
“I Knew It, I Knew You” from the Toy Story 5 soundtrack was released on June 12th and debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The song marked the 14-time Grammy Award winner’s 15th career No. 1 on the chart.
“Ever since I saw the first Toy Story movie as a 5-year-old kid, I’ve dreamed of writing for my favorite Toy Story characters,” Swift wrote on Instagram when she first announced her involvement in the film, which opens Friday (June 19). “I was lucky enough to see Toy Story 5 in its early stages and fell in love with it right away. I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening.”
