Taylor Swift’s guest appearance on her now-husband Travis Kelsey’s New Heights podcast was always memorable, from the fact that she announced her album, The Life of a Showgirl, which spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, to the rare insight she shared about her personal life. But unbeknownst to the pop star at the time, it was also a precursor to one of the biggest moments of her life: her engagement.

And in the latest installment, posted Wednesday (July 8), Travis and co-host and brother Jason Kelce reflected on their favorite moments from New Heights’ final season. “It’s pretty epic to start with Taylor,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end said of course.

“The whole time we were recording, I was planning, “After this, I’m going to ask this woman to marry me,”” he recalls. “Obviously, the beginning is [the season] My memories with Taylor will never be forgotten. It was a lot of fun. ”

In an August episode that was arguably New Heights’ channel’s most-watched upload, Swift opened up about falling in love with Travis in 2023, buying her master recordings after a years-long battle to get her first six albums back, and her obsession with baking sourdough bread. As it was later revealed, the Grotesquely star also used it as a distraction to keep Swift focused while staff set up a magical proposal location outside, where Swift popped the question after the recording finished.

“My English teacher and my gym teacher are getting married,” the 14-time Grammy winner shared on Instagram later that month.

The new episode comes less than a week after Travis and Swift tied the knot in New York City, reportedly hosting a huge celebration at Madison Square Garden on Friday (July 3) with a guest list of over 1,000 people. After a ceremony hosted by Adam Sandler and featuring a long tearful vows (some of which were apparently sung by the Elas tour headliners), Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks treated the audience to performances at the reception.

Guests have been relatively quiet considering the size of the wedding, but one guest, Ashley Smith (brother of Travis’ teammate Trey Smith), revealed that she spotted Swift’s arrangement of sweet pea and Queen Anne’s lace during the bouquet toss, and others shared that the newlyweds had set up a game where they could win raffle tickets for big prizes. One of the items, a $6,400 Chanel bag, went to Jackie Tranquil, who is married to fellow Chiefs player Drew Tranquil.
