This June is ending with a particularly heaping amount of new music releases, thanks to musicians like Phoebe Bridgers and Sombre.
On Friday (June 26), the Boygenius band members finally released their first new solo music in six years, releasing the single “Lost Boys” ahead of their recently released album, Lost Weekend. The track has a relaxed tempo, and Bridgers, who debuted the song live in a series of her secret pop-up performances earlier this year, examines the type of fuzzy men she tends to be attracted to, and how she often finds herself left behind.
Sombre, who continues to release powerful singles, has released a new song “My Body Is’t Ready” following “Homewrecker” and “Potential.” This is one of his most personal confessions yet, as he laments how insecure he is about his size and his inability to be intimate with others.
Additionally, at the end of June, the streaming service added new music from Steve Lacy and SZA, who teamed up for the duet song “Is It Cool?” — and Gracie Abrams’ single “Look at My Life” gives fans the second taste of her upcoming third album, Daughter from Hell. Additionally, Katy Perry frees herself from her past with ‘Watch It Burn’, Axwell teams up with Bon on ‘Whatever Turns You On’, Cobra teams up with Grimes on ‘Sign From God’ and TEEKS performs ‘My Boy’ on KWN’s ‘And All Pride Aside’ EP.
