When Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement in August 2025 with a simple Instagram post, it set the internet abuzz.
Since then, this superstar couple has continued to make headlines. Swift released her 15th Billboard 200 No. 1 album, The Life of a Showgirl, in October of the same year, achieving a record-breaking 4 million equivalent album units in its first week, and Kelce signed a contract with the Kansas City Chiefs for a 14th season in April of the following year.
So while they both share that they’re looking forward to planning their wedding, they’re also quite immersed in their work. Appearing on The Graham Norton Show, Swift said, “Right now, all I’m doing is working on the album,” after Norton asked if she had plans for her big day yet. “And I think the wedding will be after that.”
Members of Tavis’ camp have also remained largely silent about what they know and don’t know about the couple’s plans. When approached by a photographer at LAX, Kelsey’s mother, Donna Kelsey, flatly refused to discuss her possible involvement in wedding planning. “I’m just happy. I’m so happy for them,” Donna said at the time.
Swift’s future sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce (who is married to Trav’s brother Jason), made a plea in April for people to stop asking her about the wedding stain on her podcast, “Not Gonna Lie.” “Please stop asking me or my mother-in-law about my upcoming wedding,” she says directly to the camera. “Nobody tells you anything.” She added, “I don’t have any details. I don’t have any details. Nothing. See, that’s how many details I have. Nothing. Nothing.”
But while Donna and Kylie have been hush-hush, several people close to the couple, including Swift and Kelsea themselves, have been sharing information here and there about the wedding. And as rumors mount that the couple will tie the knot over the Fourth of July weekend, possibly at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Billboard is revealing all the details we know about their big day.
Here’s everything we know (so far) about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey’s wedding.
Swift might want a destination wedding
In an interview with Swift on BBC 1 radio, presenter Greg James thanked his long-time friend for inviting him to his big day and said that while he is usually against destination weddings, he would make an exception for her. He went to ask the pop star where she thought the big event would be held and she replied, “I’ll let you know at another time.”
The guest list is likely to be long.
During an October 2025 appearance on “The Graham Norton Show,” Swift joked that Norton “will figure it out” after the host asked if the couple would get married in 2026. Swift went on to clarify that she plans to invite Norton to the big event, as well as everyone she’s been with in the past.
“I know it’s fun to plan, because I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where money is low and people are on a bubble,” Swift explained. “And you have to assess or evaluate your relationship with them to determine whether they should be there or not. I’m not going to do that.”
She continued, “Everyone I’ve ever talked to.”
Swift and Kelce likely to hire a live band
Sorry DJ, but this will be a live music event.
On a September episode of the Kelsey brothers’ podcast, New Heights, guest host Jimmy Fallon asked Travis Kelsey if he and Swift had started planning their big day.
“Do you want to be a DJ or be in a band? Are you thinking about those things?” asked a late-night TV host.
Kelsey responded to whether couples prefer DJs or bands, saying, “Yeah, I think we’re live music kind of people, you know?”
He likely won’t be the only entertainer on the night, but in an interview with Hits Radio in October, Swift also hinted that her close friend and collaborator Ed Sheeran might take the stage during the wedding celebrations.
“It’s like, ‘Ed, if there’s a stage, you know you’re going to be on it,'” Swift said. “He knows what people want and wants to give people what they want.”
The couple also received offers from foreigners who had volunteered to direct their wedding in an open letter.
they might get married by the end of summer
Sorry to Swift who was hoping for a cardigan wedding, but Swift and Kelsey may be considering a summer date.
In an episode of New Heights that aired in January 2025, months before she and Swift got engaged, Kelce shared her thoughts on a fall wedding to coincide with football season.
“I actually don’t know anyone who got married in the fall,” the Chiefs star said. “All the weddings I’ve been to have been in the summer. All my friends are having their weddings in the summer, too.”
If they get married this year, it will be long before the summer is over. Kelce announced in March that he would return to the Chiefs for a 14th season, motivated in part by his fiance’s work ethic and passion for her job. Afterward, ESPN’s Nate Taylor said Kelsey was “going to get married.” [Swift] “Before Training Camp” starts on July 22nd.
If the couple wants to avoid a wedding that clashes with Kelce’s soccer schedule, they’ll need to do so sooner rather than later.
What Kelce “can’t wait” for
On an episode of “New Heights,” that week’s guest, Rory McIlroy, got Kelce excited about one element of his big day. It seemed like they were convinced that the wedding would take place in 2026. “Travis, whenever you sit at a wedding, you’re going to feel that way this year,” the golf champion said. “It’s just amazing to be in the same room with all these people from my childhood. I can’t believe it.”
Mr. Kelce smiled and replied simply, “I can’t wait.”
