X is actively working to expand the reach of Xai’s Grok model to more users on the platform. Several users said today that people could mention Grok in a reply and ask questions to explain the post.
Users of Elon Musk-owned social media platforms can access Grok via buttons in the sidebar. You can also click the Grok button next to all posts to explain the text and images of posts through image understanding features acquired by AI-powered chatbots last year.
For the past few weeks, the AI-powered search engine Perplexity has been running automated X accounts that work in much the same way. Users can ask questions about any of the posts on the platform. You will receive an automatic reply in a few minutes.
All companies developing AI models or tools aim to improve user accessibility to chatbots or solutions. Meta, which develops the Llama model, includes Meta AI in its search bars on Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook and Messenger. We’ve also launched a website to allow users to start conversations with chatbots on all these platforms. The company is reportedly developing a standalone meta AI app.
In comparison, the Grok Chatbot from Xai, owned by Musk, was available primarily through X. However, the company launched a new way to access AI assistants from the beginning of this year. There is a standalone Grok app on both iOS and Android, and a dedicated site. Xai recently launched a SuperGrok plan with additional features such as unlimited image generation and early access to new features.
