Openai is nearing completion of its massive $40 billion funding round, with Softbank reportedly leading the way. But this week it wasn’t just funding news headlines. The new image generator will be released on ChatGpt and includes features such as the ability to turn regular images into Studio Ghibli-style animated stills. The art generated by AI often sparks philosophical debate, but the tool is bustling with visually impressive results. Of course, it also raises big questions about copyright and intellectual property.

Today, TechCrunch’s equity podcast features Hosts Max Zeff, Anthony HA and Sean O’Kane unpacking the news of the week. This is due to Openai’s latest tools that spark both excitement and debate.

Equity will be back next week, so stay tuned!
