After its first launch for premium subscribers in the UK and Australia, Spotify has expanded the availability of its AI playlist tools to the US, Canada, Ireland and New Zealand.
This feature is currently a beta version of Android and iOS devices, allowing users to create personalized playlists based on written prompts. For example, users can enter “Romantic playlist for dating nights at home” and receive a selection of songs customized to suit their mood.
Playlists can be refined even more by adding more prompts, and Spotify also offers prompt suggestions. The company recommends mixing genres, moods, artists and decades to create unique playlists tailored to individual preferences. Additionally, users can further customize their locations, animals, movie characters, colors, and even emojis.
According to Spotify, the AI feature has been successful in the UK and Australia, with subscribers writing in today’s blog post that “millions of playlists are back.”
The AI-powered playlist creation tool can be found in the Library tab by selecting the plus button (+) in the top right corner of the screen and selecting “AI Playlist” in the menu next to “Playlist” and “Blend.” Users can tap the Create button to save the playlist to their library.
