Finalists for the 2025 EUSEW Awards have been announced

Prizes will be awarded in three categories: innovation, local energy action, and women of energy. になったんです。 English: The first thing you can do is to find the best one to do.

The winners will be decided by an online public voting open from April 29th to June 1st, and will be announced at the EUSEW Awards Ceremony held in Brussels on June 10th, 2025.

European Sustainable Energy Award 2025 Finalist

Innovation Category

The EUSEW Innovation Award recognizes outstanding, continuous or recently completed EU-funded projects that demonstrate an ingenious and innovative path to the clean energy transition.

Aquabattery is driving innovation to commercialize groundbreaking energy storage solutions based on Dutch salt water. Life4GreenBroadband reduces emissions in Croatia’s communications sector by deploying cooling and solar solutions at base stations. Lifeturbines use hydroelectric power to generate electricity by exploiting the excess pressure of household water supply in Spain and Italy.

Local Energy Action Category

The Eusew Local Energy Action Award recognizes sustainable energy actions implemented, driven by groups of citizens or consumers who contribute to the clean energy transition at the community or local level. It also inspires others to implement similar steps for their EU-wide deployment, motivates them, and brings economic and environmental benefits.

Amiestas is a public nonprofit organization that runs a one-stop shop for energy-efficient renovations in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius. Proklima is a public-private partnership funding clean energy project in and around Hanover. Community Energy for Otterbeak’s social housing in Belgium provides renewable energy access to vulnerable tenants.

Women in the energy category

The Eusew Woman in Energy Award recognizes women who lead outstanding efforts to help drive the clean energy transition in Europe. Special attention is paid to efforts to promote mainstream gender agendas and to support equality and equal opportunities in the energy sector.

Carmen Sánchez-Guevara encourages efforts to tackle the key issues of energy poverty and extreme heat in Spain’s summer. Sophie Roots is the champion of the Belgian grassroots energy cooperative. Stella Tsanti is Greek academic working at the intersection of economics, sustainability and policy.

EUSEW 2025

The European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), the largest annual event specializing in renewable and efficient energy use in Europe, will take place on June 10th-12th under the theme of “Promoting fair and competitive green transitions.” The event brings together public institutions, industries, NGOs and consumers to drive initiatives to accelerate decarbonization through clean technologies and solutions towards a competitive, fair and fair transition for both people and businesses.
