Tens of thousands of red-covered protesters have passed through the Hague and urged the Dutch government to do more to stop the Israeli onslaught in Gaza.

Organizers said it was the biggest demonstration in 20 years as rally participants pressed the Dutch government on Sunday to take action against the Israeli massacre in Gaza.

Organizers said the crowds gathered outside the government’s seats were estimated to be over 100,000 people. Police did not give a quote.

“Sometimes I feel embarrassed about the government because I don’t want to set restrictions,” said Jolanda Nio, a 59-year-old teacher.

“We are seeking the Dutch government. As long as we block access to subsidized supplies, we are halting political, economic and military support to Israel, as long as we are found guilty of genocide, war crimes and structural human rights violations in Gaza and occupied Palestinian territory.”

Israeli Army announced a “massive ground operation” on Sunday as part of a newly expanded campaign in the Gaza Strip. Rescuers reported dozens of people had been killed in the waves of Israeli attacks.

Israel’s war with Gaza killed at least 53,339 people and injured 121,034 people, according to Gaza’s health ministry.

Enclave’s government media office has updated the death toll to over 61,700, and it has been estimated that thousands of people are dead under the tile rub.

An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attack on October 7, 2023, and about 250 were taken prisoner.

The Hague International Court of Justice has heard of a lawsuit filed by South Africa, alleging that the Gaza War violated the 1948 United Nations Genocide Treaty.
