Samsung is trapped in investment in the baffling AI search startups that are being adopted by the Korean tech giant, which incorporates AI companies’ technology into their devices.
As one of the biggest investors in the AI company’s new funding round, Samsung is discussing the Perplexity app and assistant preinstalled on mobile phones and integrating search capabilities within the default browser, the report says.
The company is also discussing having Perplexity’s AI Tech Power with some of the features of Samsung’s own assistant Bixby, Bloomberg reported, adding that the partnership could be announced this year.
Samsung and Confusing did not immediately return a request for comment.
Bloomberg reported in May that the confusion is in the process of raising a $500 million round at a $14 billion valuation.
Samsung is not just considering integrating the traumatic features of confusion. Bloomberg previously reported that Apple is considering adding Prplexity as a search engine option for Safari, and in April Motorola announced a partnership with Perplexity with Power Eye features.
