AI startup CIROOS emerges from stealth for $21 million, bringing AI “teammates” to the OPS team

Ciroos, a startup building AI tool for operations teams, has come out of stealth with $21 million to roll out what is known as the industry’s first scalable AI called “SRE teammates.” The round is led by Energy Impact Partners (EIP) and has received support from the Angels group as they are trying to reconstruct how the Enterprise Ops team is working to grow complexity.

The pitch is simple. CIROOS wants to help site reliability engineers, DevOps Pro, and operations teams respond quickly to accidents.

Founded in February 2025 by Ronak Desai, Amit Patel and Ananda Rajagopal, Ciroos is led by a team around the block. They have senior roles in Cisco, AWS, and Gigamon, and hold 84 patents in regions such as AI, Observability, Cloud Infrastructure, and Networking. Now they are bringing all of that experience to problems that are only making it worse.

“Ciroos represents a transformative approach that has immediate and measurable impact,” says Shawn Cherian, partner at EIP. “The team’s deep domain expertise – both in collaboration with SRES and in leadership at global enterprises, and the vision to automate, augment and drive autonomous operations, qualifies uniquely to address the challenges in this new space.”

With $21 million in funding, Ciroos aims to take the pressure off the operations team

So, what’s broken today? As applications spread across more domains and become more dynamic, OPS teams are owned to alerts. Finding the underlying cause of a problem often means drawing in dozens of engineers (and sometimes hundreds). Static runbooks, dashboard clicks, and disconnected tools will no longer reduce that. Also, developers are cranking out their code faster thanks to AI tools, but it’s SRES that picked up the slack when things broke.

Ciroos is following this problem directly. That AI SRE teammate is not waiting for a human to be paged. Instead, you can actively kick off your research and simulate how experienced engineers think through cross-system interactions to get a sense of what’s wrong, or flag it that everything is really okay.

CIROOS SRE Teammates

At the heart of this is Ciroos’ multi-agent AI architecture built using what is called the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and the Agent 2 Agent (A2A) framework. It’s technical: it plays well with other AI tools and systems you already use. Teammates can connect to observability platforms, ticket software, collaboration tools, incident response systems, and even codebases. Teams can also decide how much control they want to provide, from light support to near-autonomous behavior.

“SRES has a huge burden – from nighttime incidents to repeated analysis and hours after death,” said co-founder and CEO Ronak Desai. “We have fully embraced our mission to build AI SRE teammates to end that struggle and provide SRES with AI SRE teammates that empower superheroes.”

This funding will be employed throughout the construction of efforts that are on the market and engineering and sales. The company is currently based in Pleasanton, California, employing AI engineers, full stack developers and growth specialists.

In short, Ciroos bets that AI doesn’t just write code or generate content. It’s about giving a burnt-out OPS team a much-needed teammate. Don’t sleep, panic, and never miss a forest of trees.
