A new community has emerged in the event industry.

Spark aims to ignite leadership, amplify voices, and promote women’s growth in tech-centric events and marketing roles.

Spark is for professionals from emerging leaders to veteran executives who want community, collaboration and career clarity.

Benefits include access to curated networking opportunities, mentoring from industry pioneers, educational content designed with women in mind, and safe spaces to ask questions, share victory and grow together.

Ultimately, Spark helps women go even faster by giving them the Spark and support they need to thrive.

It was founded by Storyblok, Content Manager for Databricks Events and Meribeth Golec, Senior Global Event Specialist at Jess Hop.

Storyblok is a headless CMS designed by both developers and marketers, and Databricks is a data and AI company that provides a unified platform for data engineering, machine learning and analytics.

Spark was born out of the need to grow to create dedicated and supportive spaces for women navigating the world of technology within events and marketing roles.

Co-founder Jess Hopp said: “These industries often feel isolated, especially at the leadership level. Inspiration comes from realizing that many people still face challenges in vision, advocacy and professional development while women make incredible progress in these fields.”

Spark uniquely supports women by combining professional networking with targeted mentorship, skill-building resources and honest conversations about industry dynamics.

Hop added: “It’s not just about empowerment, it’s about leading boldly and equipping women with the tools, connections and confidence that will drive career and corporate change.”

According to Hop, Spark members are currently discussing topics ranging from navigating career advancements in male-dominated environments to balancing innovation and risk of burnout.

She added: “Topics like negotiating payments, reliable leads, and building a comprehensive event strategy are frontline and central.”
