After months of speculation, Apple pulled back the curtains with a wave of software updates during its WWDC25 keynote on June 9, 2025. The event features the Macos Tahoe debut, seeking an ecosystem that has become more seamless, AI-infiltrated, anchored by a bold new design language called “Liquid Glass.”

From iOS 26 and MacOS 26 to Watchos 12 and Visionos 3, the company laid out roadmap blend design refresh, cross-platform continuity and privacy-focused AI tools. I’ve tuned over 600,000 times on YouTube and watched the presentations live. response? A modest applause, but a lot of substance.

WWDC25

Let’s break it down.

Here’s a summary of the big announcement:

Liquid glass redesign: A fresh, translucent interface that unfolds across iO, macos, iPados, watchos and visionos.

All systems are 26. Apple integrates OS version numbers. IOS, MacOS, iPados, and WatchOS are all now in version 26.

MacOS Tahoe: Visually improved MacO with new AI features, tighter iPhone integration and upgraded graphics performance.

Vision Pro Upgrade: Add game support (including Sony VR2 controllers), new content partnerships, and enterprise tools.

Apple TV Karaoke Mode: Users can mute vocals with machine learning and sing using their iPhone as a microphone.

Apple Music Lyric Translation: Real-time translation that breaks language barriers across playlists.

ChatGpt in Image Playground: Users will describe it, generate content, create styles, and process the process on-device.

Live Translation: Real-time translation in calls, FaceTime, and text – Works with Apple Intelligence.

See-through transformation: liquid glass

For the first time since 2013, Apple is giving iOS a complete visual overhaul. “Liquid Glass” brings semi-transparent layers, smoother animations, and adaptation icons to iOS 26, iPados 26, Macos Tahoe, Watchos 12, and Visionos 3.

Apple’s Alan Dye describes it as a “uniform liquid,” reflecting the aesthetics of vision. Think of glass surfaces, light reflections, and customizable folders. There has also been a redesign in the Control Center, making quicker configurations more accessible.

People online are already calling the new look “smooth” and if early feedback is a sign, Apple may have nailed the design refresh. The developer beta is currently live, with public releases dropping in September.

Macos Tahoe: More personality, less physical labor

Named after a California hotspot, the Macos 26 (aka “Tahoe”) mixes the look of liquid glass with the new AI features under Apple’s Apple Intelligence umbrella.

Highlights:

A smarter spotlight with quick keys and intelligent actions to automate multi-step tasks.

iPhone apps launching from Mac make your cross-device experience more seamless.

Visual tweaks such as transparent menus, color-coded folders, emoji labels and more.

Metal 4 supports high quality graphics and better performance for games and creative apps.

The developer build is already on sale and will be available in public beta this summer.

ChatGpt Playground: Openai comes to iOS carefully

ChatGpt Playground, a developer-focused tool that extends the playground for images last year, was ChatGpt Playground. Users can now stylize things like contacts by simply explaining them. All processing is mandatory. Unless you agree to it, it will not be sent to Openai.

Wired reports that developers can connect to this via the API. This means that more apps will soon start supporting this kind of AI customization.

It’s all part of Apple Intelligence and also enhances new features such as:

Visual intelligence that allows you to tap the “chatgpt ask” button to get information about objects on the screen.

Training Buddy, an AI Fitness Coach Learning from Your Habits.

Playgrounds run only on Apple Intelligence-enabled devices, and availability varies by language and location.

iOS 26 and iPados 26: Other AI, smarter features

Both iOS and iPads 26 make the most of Liquid Glass and Apple’s on-device AI smart.

Main features:

Live translations of calls, FaceTime, and messages. Think spoken captions during calls, between real-time translation in text threads, and multilingual support (starting with English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean).

Visual intelligence that reads and understands photos, such as picking up dates and events, syncing them to calendars.

Tighter Mac-Iphone-IPAD integration, including mirroring real-time apps with little lag.

Bloomberg has called the new Control Center and Adaptation Icon as an outstanding update. iPad Multitasker also appreciates the dynamic layout.

Watchos 12 and Visionos 3: Get smartwatches, spatial push

The Watchos 12 brings a liquid glass atmosphere to your wrist. Expect smarter health features like a more personalized watch face and training buddy. Notifications with new semi-transparent backgrounds are easier to read.

Visionos 3 is an Apple play to keep Vision Pro in the spotlight.

Sony’s VR2 Sense Controller game support competes directly with Meta’s Questline.

Content upgrades including partnerships with GoPro, Canon and Insta360 for wide-angle experiences.

An enterprise tool with a new API for private viewing mode and 3D collaboration tools such as Logitech’s Muse.

Both platforms are in beta and should be released later this year.

Apple TV, Music and CarPlay get fresh features

TVOS 19: Add liquid glass and karaoke mode to mute vocals using machine learning to sing as a microphone along with your iPhone.

Apple Music: A new Automix playlist that blends real-time lyrics translations with DJ-like tracks.

CarPlay: Improves widgets that allow you to gain direction while on a call.

Apple’s new “games” app

Apple introduced an intensive gaming app, combining downloaded games with social add-ons such as leaderboards, friend challenges, and play history. Built in the arcade and tap on the large gaming revenue base in the App Store.

The Metal 4-backed gaming app supports cross-device syncing and is now in beta for iOS 26 and Macos Tahoe.

So, what is the big picture?

The WWDC25 didn’t turn the table over, but it gave us a good look at how Apple thinks about design, AI and user privacy. Liquid Glass hones the visual experience, Apple Intelligence adds smarter tools, and ChatGpt Playground opens new creative doors without compromising data privacy.

Live translations could be sleeper. However, it is clear that Apple is keeping paced as a full Siri upgrade is still missing and language support is still limited. The developer beta is currently live and will be fully rolled out this fall.

Actual tests will be practical use: Do liquid glass feel fresh months now? Also, can Apple’s privacy-first AI stack be held on its own in an already advanced industry?

Time and user recruitment will be communicated.
