At WWDC meeting on Monday, Apple announced its new Macos Tahoe. It comes with a series of updates related to Apple Intelligence, iPhone Continuity Features and Spotlight Search.

Apple’s new “Liquid Glass” design is now available on the Macos Tahoe for a sophisticated, customizable look. Yes, finally, you can turn the folder icon into pink (or other colors). Like the iOS 26, Macos Tahoe’s design refresh comes in a more reflective, transparent style, like real glass. But behind the glossy updates are other upgrades that leverage Apple Intelligence to improve the user experience.

The Macos Tahoe is more closely tied to the user’s iPhone, showing live activity from iOS (pop up on a lock screen or dynamic island to indicate that Uber Eats Order is 17 away). Thanks to the continued feature, Mac products are getting the phone app for the first time. This comes with other updates to the iOS phone app, such as Call Screening and Hold Assist. Live translations also appear in the phone, messaging, and the FaceTime app.

Some of the most substantial MacOS Tahoe upgrades come through the spotlights everywhere. With the help of Apple’s AI capabilities, Spotlight will “intelligently” deliver results, predicting what you’re most likely looking for, suggesting actions based on general activity or what you’re currently working on.

Users can also perform actions directly from the spotlight. In Apple’s WWDC Keynote demo, using Spotlight, Apple’s executives entered the email subject and body text before sending it to recipients without opening the email app.

The upgraded Spotlight also features quick keys, allowing users to customize short strings of characters to view specific actions. Apple has shown an example of typing “AR” so that you can add reminders and “SM” to send messages.

Many other major updates for iOS 26 are also available in Tahoe, including updates to Genmoji and Image Playground, AI support reminders, new Apple gaming apps, message background and voting, and new FaceTime Landing pages. The journal app is also coming to Tahoe.

Apple has announced that the Macos Tahoe will be available in the fall, but the public beta version will be released next month. Developers can now access the early version.
