On Friday, Google announced that it is using new shortcut buttons for VIDS, Tech Giant’s AI-powered video creation tool, to enhance its drive video editing experience.

This new feature allows Workspace users to start video editing using VIDS directly from the Google Drive interface. Now, while previewing the video on the drive, the user will see an “Open” button in the top right corner, and the video will open in the VIDS app. VIDS automatically launches video files, allowing for further editing, such as trimming clips and incorporating music and text.

Activated by default, this new shortcut suggests that the company is more closely integrated with Google’s Workspace Suite. Launched last year, VIDS aims to streamline video production, including the ability to generate videos from basic text prompts, creating automatically created scripts, relocating video clips, and adding transitions.

This is right after the company that will showcase another Gemini AI feature for Workspace users in May. This allows you to use AI to summarize video files stored on Google Drive.
