Oracle is shaking its executive suite to set vision set to the advantage of AI infrastructure. The company announced Monday that it would promote Clay Maguiurk and Mike Sicilia to joint selection.

Magouyrk joined Oracle in 2014 through Amazon Web Services. He is a founding member of Oracle’s Cloud Engineering team and has been president of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure Business Unit for over a decade.

Sicily has been president of Oracle’s industrial division since June. He has played several different roles with the company since joining in 2008 through the acquisition of Oracle of Project Portfolio Management Company Primavera Systems.

Oracle CEO Safra Catz has moved into a new role as the executive vice chair for Oracle’s board of directors since 2014.

“Today Oracle is recognized as a cloud of choice for both AI training and speculation. I am extremely proud of it,” Cats said in a statement. “Oracle’s technology and business are stronger than ever, and our breathtaking growth rate refers to an even more prosperous future. At this point, it’s a good moment to pass the role of CEO to the next generation of capable executives.”

Traditionally known as a cloud infrastructure provider, Oracle has recently begun to solidify its position in the AI infrastructure race. Earlier this year, the company announced its participation in a $500 billion Stargate project with Openai and SoftBank to build data centers and AI infrastructure in the US.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the company had made a groundbreaking deal with Openai, providing calculations worth $300 billion to the AI company. On Friday, Reuters reported that the company has fewer $20 billion calculation contracts with Meta, but still signed a significant number of signatures.
