The European Commission has announced the program and opened registration for European Sustainable Energy Week 2026 (EUUSEW).

This year’s European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) event marks a special milestone: 20 years of bringing together Europe’s energy community to form a “Clean, Safe and Competitive Energy Union”, as highlighted in its theme. Through a co-created program born out of an open call, EUUSEW brings together leading voices on clean energy with high-level speakers such as Energy and Housing Secretary Dan Jorgensen (pictured below).

A big highlight of the year will be a panel discussion on June 9th, when former European Commissioners who shaped Europe’s energy policy, including Andris Piebalgs, Günter Oettinger and Kadri Simson, will join together with current European Commissioner Dan Jorgensen to discuss how the continent’s priorities have evolved and what needs to happen next in the changing geopolitical and economic landscape.

The main pillars of European Sustainable Energy Week 2026:

The EUUSEW Policy Conference is the central hub of the event and will be held in Brussels at the European Commission Conference Center Charlemagne and the NH Brussels EU Berlaymont Hotel and in a hybrid format online. The three-day conference, to be held from Tuesday to Thursday from 9 to 11 June, will feature 50 policy sessions and high-level sessions hosted by energy stakeholders and the European Commission. Sessions will explore a wide range of topics and solutions, highlighting new policy developments, best practices and innovative sustainable energy ideas, and fostering the debate on clean, safe and efficient energy. The EUUSEW Awards Ceremony on the first day will recognize outstanding individuals and projects across three categories: community energy work, women in energy, and small and medium-sized businesses promoting energy efficiency for the first time this year. This new category focuses specifically on small and medium-sized enterprises that have developed and introduced innovative business or financing models to promote energy efficiency solutions in buildings and industry. The nine finalists for the EUSEW Awards will be announced on May 5, 2026, with the opening of the online public vote, giving everyone the opportunity to decide who will be celebrated on stage on June 9. Extensive networking opportunities will be provided for both on-site and online attendees to connect with members of the sustainable energy community. Local participants can also attend the EUUSEW Energy Fair, which provides organizations, businesses and associations with the opportunity to showcase their work directly at the event. This year’s fair will be held entirely within the Charlemagne building, with all participants under one roof. During the Policy Conference program, outgoing and incoming Young Energy Ambassadors (60 passionate young people in total) will promote an intergenerational perspective on clean energy. These emerging experts from across Europe, who are already actively working on the transition to clean and fair energy, have been selected for a one-year program to represent youth voices in sustainable energy policy-making. The EUUSEW spirit extends far beyond Brussels through Sustainable Energy Day, which precedes the main event week. Hundreds of locally held events highlight concrete clean energy activities in Europe and beyond. The call for entries for the title Sustainable Energy Day is now open and submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with a deadline of May 24, 2026. This provides organizers with a unique opportunity to increase awareness through the EUSEW community.

On-site press passes are limited. To protect your information, register as a “Media Contact” today.
