Lovable releases vibecoding app on iOS and Android

Apple’s recent crackdown on vibe coding apps hasn’t stopped Lovable from launching a no-code AI app builder, now available as a mobile app in Apple and Google’s app stores.

The Vibecoding startup is pitching its new mobile app to aspiring app builders as a way to code on the go via voice or text AI prompts, allowing you to capture any idea as it pops into your head. This means you can launch Lovable and work on a random app idea from anywhere, and let its agent run autonomously after receiving input.

The new app also allows you to go back and forth between your computer and phone to pick up where you left off on a particular project, or even get notified when a build is ready for review.

The app’s arrival comes shortly after Apple highlighted what the Vibe Coding app can and cannot do on its App Store. The tech giant recently blocked updates to popular Vibe coding tools such as Replit and Vibecode for violating its developer guidelines.

Simply put, Apple didn’t ban vibecoding apps per se, but it doesn’t allow apps that download new code or change functionality because they pose a security risk to end users. (This also means that Apple’s app review team can’t properly vet your app during the approval process.)

Apple also temporarily removed the vibe coding app Anything from the App Store for similar reasons, but the app returned with changes earlier this month.

To comply with Apple regulations, Vibecoding apps can no longer run generated apps within the host app. Instead, previews for these apps have been moved to your web browser.

Lovable also seemingly follows these rules, as its new app touts the ability to turn ideas into “working websites or web apps.”
