Can you hear a rumbling sound? Following the release of a series of recent singles and the debut of the Contra event in Berlin last weekend, the Skrillex machine continues to shift into high gear with the announcement of the artist’s upcoming new album.
On Monday, Skrill revealed the name and tracklist of their fifth studio LP, Soma, on their Instagram Stories. A release date hasn’t been announced yet, but what is certain is that the album will feature 13 songs, including “Duro,” a collaboration with March Young Miko, “La Noche 2” (which appears to be an update to Chris Lake and Anita B. Queen’s 2025 collaboration “La Noche”), and last week’s “Thistle” with Randommar, Blawan, and MC Dricka. See the full tracklist below.
“Soma” is Skrillex’s first new album since “F*CK U SKRILLEX YOU THINK UR ANDY WARHOL BUT UR NOT!!”, released in April 2025. <3 was essentially a 46 minute megamix assembled from 36 tracks. The album comes after Quest for Fire, which was released in February 2023, and Skrill surprise-released another album, Don't Get to Close, the following day.
These projects were the producer’s first LP since 2014’s full-length debut Recess, and followed a series of highly publicized pop-up shows in New York City alongside Four Tet and Fred Again…The excitement surrounding these sets culminated with the last-minute announcement of the trio’s headlining show at Madison Square Garden, which sold out in minutes.
The artist will be performing at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound this weekend, a headlining slot at Bonnaroo, the Kappa Future Festival in Turin, Italy, Dekmantel in the Netherlands, Sziget in Hungary and Brussels in the UK. They have a busy summer schedule, including appearances at Motown and a headlining show with Boyz Noise at Portola, where the duo will revive their early 2010s Bass Bomb side project Dog Blood.
Soma track list:
“Soma”, “Thistle”, “Trunchi”, “Smoke”, “Noche Without You”, “Scat 2”, “Cini”, “Pente Lara”, “E O Bondo”, “La Noche 2”, “Anybody”, “Duro”, “Diwali”
