GRUBHUB, a US food delivery company, says that after hackers violated internal systems, they accessed customer and driver’s personal information.

Grubhub is a popular food order and distribution platform with over 375,000 merchants and 200,000 delivery providers using platforms in more than 4,000 US cities. The Wonder Group, based in New York, acquired a company with a 650 million dollar transaction last fall.

On Monday, Illinois -based companies have revealed data infringement that affects private data of private customers, merchants, and drivers. Grubhub said that “an unusual activity” was detected in the network and followed to a third -party service provider.

“After the discovery, we started investigating immediately and identified unauthorized access to the provider -related account,” Grubhub stated in a statement. “Immediately finished account access and completely deleted the service provider from the system.”

The invasion has made it possible to access the personal information of customers, merchants, and drivers who exchanged with the customer care service. This violation also affected the GRUBHUB campus dining service user. As a result, university students can use the meal credit in the food delivery app.

According to Grubhub’s personal information, the details of the accessed individuals include partial payment card information, which includes the name of the campus diner’s “subset”, e -mail address, telephone number, and the last four digits of the card number. Included. Hackers also accessed a specific legacy system hash password for each Grubhub, but the details of the bank account and the social security number were not affected by the violation.

The number of individuals affected by the Grubhub violation has not confirmed that the incident has occurred.

The company did not immediately answer Techniccrunch questions.
