The All-Party Congress Group for Events (APPG) will host the first event of the new parliament since it was reorganized in December.
Hosted by Telford’s MP and APPG Chair Shaun Davies, the event is a private dinner held in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, May 6th, 2025.
Operating since 2011, the APPG is the voice of the UK event industry at Westminster, working to increase the value and profile of the sector with MPs, government ministers and policymakers within Parliament and across Whitehall. I’m here.
Invited guests include APPG council members, recently registered group and corporate members, and senior leaders across the UK events sector.
In October, the UK-based organization was invited to participate as a non-voting member, providing opportunities to directly engage with the MP and influence policy decisions.
APPG is also actively involved in supporting the 2025 Global Policy Forum hosted by the event business, with Sean Davis offering updates at the forum and several lawmakers also expected to be present.
In previous parliamentary terminology, the APPG conducted several research into the challenges facing the sector, including the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent recovery strategies.
These enquiries culminated in a comprehensive report that provided recommendations to the government to help the industry revive.
The APPG is managed by industry think tanks, an event business that also serves as a special advisor to the group.
