Oklahoma City -The Oklahoma Board of Education has approved a proposal for parents to report their immigration status or citizenship proof when registering children at public schools.The Board of Directors unanimously voted to approve the proposed administrative rules. This must be approved by the state council and the governor. Controversial rules require parent or child legal guardian to provide evidence of US citizenship at the time of registration.The proposed rules do not hinder the student to register based on legal status.
