With 2025 going well, the global helium shortage is becoming more severe, creating challenges across healthcare, technology and aerospace. The surge in demand, strengthened by geopolitical tensions and aging extraction infrastructure, has sparked urgent concerns about the sustainability of helium supply. Advances in recycling and recovery technologies offer some hope, but the high costs associated with these solutions may limit their widespread adoption. The way industry responds is important in navigating the complexity of this increasingly scarce resource. The role of helium in healthcare and technology Helium plays an important role in the medical field, particularly in the operation of…

Ukevents has joined forces with other organisations within the Tourism Alliance to express deep concern about the recent decision to significantly cut the significant funding of its key partner Visitbritain. The decision, which cut 41% funding compared to last year, poses a major threat to the critical work Visitbritain has carried out in promoting the UK as a top destination for tourism and events. With the recently launched “UK-UK Starring” campaign and fantastic events shaping future activities, Visitbritain’s initiative has helped to attract international visitors. According to a new report from the University of Sheffield, the UK government will need to provide subsidies for low-carbon technologies such as electric vehicles and solar panels to achieve its net-zero target by 2050. Research shows that encouraging people to adopt low carbon technology (LCT) is benefiting, but it is not sufficient to continue reducing inequality intake among some socioeconomic groups. Dr. Andrew Burlinson, a former economics student at the University of Sheffield, explained: “It is therefore important to emphasize that broader inequality in our society could be further exacerbated by limiting the ability of the most disadvantaged groups…

Spynote, Badbazaar, Moonshine Malware Target Android and iOS users are targeting users via fake apps
Cybersecurity researchers have discovered that threat actors set up deceptive websites hosted on newly registered domains to provide known Android malware called Spynote. These fake websites pretend to be the Google Play Store installation page for apps such as the Chrome Web browser. “The threat actors used a combination of English and Chinese delivery sites to include Chinese comments in the distribution site code and the malware itself,” the Domaintools Survey (DTI) team said in a report shared with Hacker News. Spynote (aka Spymax) is a remote access trojan that has long been known for its ability to harvest sensitive…
Attorneys for Salvadoran Man Kilmar Abrego Garcia praised the Supreme Court’s order, saying “the rule of law has won.”The U.S. Supreme Court has ordered the government to “promote” the return of Salvadorans who have been mistakenly deported in the wake of President Donald Trump’s immigration policy. Digital watermarks are stepping into the spotlight as a powerful solution to tackling one of the biggest challenges of recycling: the precise sorting of plastic packaging. The latest results from the Digital Watermarks Initiative Holygrail 2.0 trial show a major leap forward to prove the potential of technology on an industrial scale, led by AIM, using alliances to end plastic waste. It will be held at the Hyngen Entengan Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Swisttal, Germany. It deals with 100,000 tonnes of waste per year from over 3 million households. This was when the pilot tested a hard plastic package…
