Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix fans can pay with the crypto for the first time. Crypto.com announced Thursday that it will enable cryptocurrency payments at the event and offer participants the option to use digital assets to purchase food and drinks throughout the race weekend.

The company says payment platform Crypto.com Pay will be available to some vendors throughout the event. Fans using the Crypto.com app can purchase with zero transaction fees, while merchants can benefit from faster processing and lower costs.

Joe Anzures, general manager of crypto.com, general manager of EVP and EVP. “The highly-prominent global event attracting high-tech, digitally-native consumers has a huge impact on promoting cryptocurrency utilities. We are excited to offer participants at Formula 1 crypto.com Miami Grand Prix the ability to pay with crypto.”

Jason Green, the event’s SVP and Chief Revenue Officer, said the move reflects a common focus on improving convenience and offering more flexible payment options. “We take pride in providing innovations that make our fans easier and more convenient,” he said. “As our first partner, it’s rewarding to see the natural evolution of our collaboration with Crypto.com.”

Crypto.com has been the title sponsor of the Miami Grand Prix since its debut in 2022. The brand will be featured prominently through events such as the grid, start/finish line, podium, trophies, hospitality areas and fan zones at Miami International Autodrome from May 2nd to May 4th.

Steven Kalifowitz, Crypto.com CMO, said the move will deepen its partnership with F1 and increase fan access. “We’ve built a brand that sets the highest standards in the industry,” he said. “When we deepen our partnerships with incredible brands like F1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix, helping our guests expand their access to leverage Crypto is a natural next step for us.”
