The European Commission has approved a 500 million euros by France to support chemical recycling, a highly advanced way to reuse plastic waste.

This initiative matches the European Union’s commitment of building a more circulating and resilient economy as part of the 2024-2029 political guidelines. The funding is to promote the innovation of recycling technology, reduce the dependence on fossil -based raw materials, and bring the industry closer to the neutrality of the climate.

Teresaribera, an executive vise president for clean, fair and competitive transitions, explained:

“By promoting the use of existing resources through efficiency and circulation economic practices, it contributes to the EU’s purpose of reaching the climate neutral by 2050.

“At the same time, this scheme guarantees that potential competition distortion is minimized.”

What is chemical recycling?

Unlike the conventional mechanical recycling with plastic and the conventional mechanical recycling with remels, chemical recycling disassembles plastic at the molecular level.

This process can recover high -quality raw materials that can be used to create new plastic with characteristics equivalent to virgin materials.

By converting mixed and contaminated plastic waste into reusable components, chemical recycling provides plastic solutions that are not incinerated or reclaimed.

This innovative approach can close the loops of plastic production and consumption, continuously reuse plastic waste, which reduces contamination and promotes sustainability.

500 million euros in France

France has introduced this substantial funding program to support specific plastic waste type chemical recycling, including:

Non -salt bottle textile material containing tray film polyester

The goal is to enable companies to adopt advanced recycling technologies that convert plastic waste into high -quality and virgin raw materials.

This greatly contributes to the European Union’s Circulation Economic Strategy and its long -term sustainability.

Financial support for companies on all sizes

French schemes are designed to encourage the participation of all -scale companies and various industries.

Financial assistance is directly provided in the form of subsidies and covers up to 40 % of the additional investment cost required for the Chemical Recycling Project.

The target cost is determined by comparing the total investment cost of chemical recycling initiative with the environment -friendly alternative initiative.

By providing this financial support, this Initiative is trying to make chemical recycling an impressive and attractive option for companies that try to strengthen sustainable efforts and reduce environmental footprint. Masu.

Move toward the circulation economy

French ambitious investment in chemical recycling represents transformed movements in fighting plastic waste.

This initiative promises to reduce plastic pollution, promote circulation by utilizing state -of -the -art technology and financial support, and sets a sustainable waste management precedent throughout Europe.

As industries adopt these advanced recycling methods, the truly recycling economy vision is one step closer.
