Finally, the concept now works without an internet connection

For years, one of the most annoying issues with using concepts has been that it is not possible to accomplish a lot offline due to cloud-first architecture. The company has finally solved the problem and added support for offline mode to the app.

To absolutely no one’s surprise, the company on Tuesday said in a post announcing the update that this is one of the most requested features from users.

Therefore, users are finally able to view, edit and create notes without an internet connection via Notion’s desktop and mobile apps. The app also allows you to download one page for offline access.

Once you’re back online, the app will sync any changes you make to the document. However, without an internet connection, blocks like embeds, forms, or buttons don’t work either.

Additionally, if you subscribe to a Notion’s Plus, Business, or Enterprise plan, the app will automatically download your recently viewed favorite pages.

Users can turn off automatic downloads and manage downloads via the new “Offline” menu in the Settings panel.

The company’s CEO Ivan Zhao states in X’s thread that the concept cannot ship all the features of this year, as the app uses complex databases to store various blocks.
