American empirical marketing agency George P. Johnson (GPJ) has appointed Fiona Bruder as the new global CEO. The leadership change will take effect on May 1, 2025.

Bruder previously served as president of GPJ Americas. She is the successor to Chris Meyer, who will become CEO of Project, the parent company of GPJ. Meyer will continue to support GPJs in their strategic advisory role.

Bruder has over 25 years of marketing experience. She played a key role in GPJ’s growth and global expansion. She is known for building long-term client partnerships and leading during industry transitions.

“Fiona has long been dedicated to the growth and mission of the company, including impressive leadership throughout the pandemic, where we have become even stronger as a company,” Meyer said.

Focus on innovation and global expansion

Bruder will lead the way in driving institutions that expand AI-powered solutions, new industrial verticals, and experience services. The GPJ also promotes innovation beyond mobility based on the legacy of the automotive sector.

“GPJ has been my home for many years, and today is where I built a career that I love so much,” Bruder said. “Our success is always based on the strength of our relationships with our clients, our culture of collaboration, and our ability to evolve ahead of the curve.”

Commitment to Culture and Inclusion

Bruder led the employment of GPJ’s first DEI executives. She also helped launch employee resource groups to promote agency-wide inclusion.

She plays an active role in coordinating innovation across Project Worldwide’s agency network to provide integrated solutions.

“We are energised by the future ahead,” Bruder said. “With the strength of our global teams, diversity of services and an unwavering focus on our clients, we are poised to redefine what brand experiences can be in this next era.”

“Fiona was more than just a partner. She has become an integral part of our team,” said Colleen Visconti, vice president of events and experiences at IBM. “We are excited to see Fiona take on this new role and lead the GPJ to an exciting and exciting next chapter.”
