Google is rolling out several new AI-powered features across Search, Maps and Gemini, designed to help people plan their summer vacation. New features are coming to help users turn to tools like Openai’s ChatGpt to help them plan their trips.

A Google Search AI overview, which displays a snapshot of information at the top of the results page, now helps users get ideas for travelling in a particular region or country. Starting this week, users can search for things like “Create a Costa Rica Itinerary with a Nature Focus.”

From there you can view photos and reviews and see the expandable locations on the map. When you’re ready to save your itinerary, you can tap Export to share your recommendations via document or Gmail. Alternatively, you can save it as a custom list in Google Maps.

This new feature is available for US English queries on mobile and desktop.

Google also makes Gemini’s gem features free of charge. GEM is a tool that allows you to create custom AI experts for any task within Gemini. This allows users to set up a travel planner that will help them choose their destination and suggest what to pack.

Furthermore, Google has been able to alert users about price drops for quite some time, but they end up doing the same with hotels. Users will be able to see new options to track hotel prices for selected dates and destinations. You can select filters for hotel searches, such as star ratings and beach access for a specific area. When prices drop, Google will send you an email.

Hotel price tracking will be launched globally on mobile and desktop browsers this week.

As for maps, Google has deployed the ability for users to turn screenshots into solid vacation plans. When planning a holiday, people often take screenshots to bookmark places they want to visit, but sometimes they forget these photos from their camera rolls.

Now users can provide map access to their photos, allowing the app to automatically identify the locations listed in the screenshots, allowing them to see and save the locations they need in the list. The location you want to save will be displayed on the map so you can get a summary of your plans.

This feature will be available in English on iOS in the US this week and will be released on Android soon.
