Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton joined Blueski in the footsteps of former President Barack Obama, who made his first post on the platform last week. Clinton confirmed the legitimacy of his Bluesky account with his Instagram Stories and X posts.

In her introduction post, Clinton wrote about the Wisconsin Supreme Court election on Tuesday. The state’s judicial race has attracted unprecedented attention on both sides of the aisle. This is because it determines the political bends of swing state courts that affect rulings on abortion rights, rezoning and other issues.

Musk is said to have put more than $20 million into the campaign of Republican candidate Brad Simmell. He brought Trump’s 2024 campaign to approximately $250 million. Similar to President Trump’s strategy during the run, Musk gave two Shimmel voters a check for $1 million each.

As X’s owner Elon Musk becomes more entrenched in the Trump administration, Bluesky continues to emerge as an alternative social platform for those disillusioned with Musk’s politics and X’s shift to the right.

Bluesky’s reach is smaller than the range of platforms previously known as Twitter, but the open source network has 33 million users. However, as Bluesky attracts well-known users like Clinton and Obama, the platform is building more legitimacy as a competitor for X.
