A fierce rivalry overcame the competition to win 13 Canadian Screen Awards at Saturday night’s scripted television ceremony.
These awards include two for creator Jacob Tierney, who won for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for a Drama.
Tierney’s win gives the Montreal-born creator a hat trick in the past two days, adding to his tally at Friday’s unscripted gala where he won the award for best reality/competition series as executive producer on “Traitor Canada.”
‘Heat Rivalry’ has been a hit and has been heating up TV screens around the world since its debut last year. It depicts the love story of two hockey players played by Hudson Williams and Connor Story.
Sophie Nélisse, who played Williams’ girlfriend on the show, won Best Supporting Actor, and Nadine Baba, who played bartender Kip’s ride-or-die friend Elena, won the trophy for Guest Starring.
